Testing Technician (On call)

About the role

Responsible for performing testing activities in the College’s instructional and placement testing center, providing testing support to students and faculty utilizing the college’s testing facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provides testing support to students and faculty utilizing the college’s testing facilities.
• Obtains and maintains proctor certifications as directed.
• Adheres to proctor rules and requirements as detailed by certifying agencies and companies.
• Administers placement, instructional, and other exams.
• Communicates with faculty regarding policies and procedures.
• Communicates testing instructions in a friendly, courteous, and clear manner.
• Requests and inspects valid identification of students wishing to use the testing center.
• Utilizes internet and local network software to prepare and print test scores.
• Utilizes Internet and local network to administer instructional on-line tests.
• Aids in maintaining appropriate assessment atmosphere.
• Evaluates student needs and requirements by reviewing test history.
• Aids students with keyboarding techniques required for testing via computer.
• Maintains student records.
• Maintains filing of student exams.
• Aids in preparing testing materials.
• Processes completed tests.
• Maintains test security.
• Ensures academic integrity and reports to any breach of academic integrity.
• Accepts telephone inquiries and contact with general public.
• Maintains cordial and cooperative working relationships with college community.
• Performs other related work as required.

Job Requirements

• PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to, a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. This position requires significant (up to 90%+ total) stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, and walking.
• KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Customer service skills; ability to work under pressure. Ability to maintain accurate records and files. Data entry and/or keyboarding skills. Knowledge of Windows software. Ability to maintain good judgment.
