Check out our many videos to learn more! http://www.dxpe.com/about-us/careers/ Summary The Test Lab Technician will work with a team to install API and ANSI style centrifugal pumps according to standard procedures on a dedicated test stand for the purpose of hydraulic performance testing. This will be completed using flexible and rigid joint pipe assemblies, electric motors, instrumentation, and monitoring equipment; Including installation of up to 42" diameter pipe, connection of ANSI class 150# - 2500# flanges, mechanical shaft alignment via optical laser alignment tool, electric motor power connections up to 7.2 kV, API mechanical seal flush plans, installation and operation of flow control valves (butterfly, gate, globe), overhead crane operation and heavy equipment operation. Responsibilities of the Test Lab Technician include, but are not limited to: Assembly and installation of API/ANSI spec centrifugal pumps on test standFlexible and rigid joint piping assembly up to 42" diameterConnection and bolt up of ANSI B16.1 class 150# - 2500# flangesMechanical shaft alignment via optical laser alignment toolElectric motor power connections up to 7200 VAPI mechanical seal flush plan installation and monitoringDaily operation of flow control valves (butterfly, gate, globe)Routine maintenance of shop tools and equipmentRoutine cleaning and housekeeping dutiesDaily overhead crane operationDaily indoor/outdoor forklift operation Qualifications of the Test Lab Technician include, but are not limited to: Minimum of 2 years of experience in the oil and gas industry Basic knowledge of flanged and hammer union pipe connectionsBasic knowledge of hand and pneumatic tools including combo wrenches, sockets, ratchets, and impactsPossess a skill set in fabrication including oxygen/acetylene cutting, MIG, or Arc weldingCan safely operate overhead cranes/forkliftsHas experience with mechanical shaft alignmentHas experience with electrical wiring/controls Additional Information Physical Demand: Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
