About the role
This role is contingent upon contract award. It is a Test Engineering Manager 3 position located in Huntsville, Alabama. Relocation assistance may be available and there is a requirement for a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple flight-test campaign teams of flight-test engineers, providing direction, mentorship, and performance oversight.
- Develop, review, and approve detailed test plans, procedures, and acceptance-test criteria for system-level and flight tests.
- Oversee execution of test operations, including test conduct, data collection, analysis, and post-test reporting.
- Cook up and approve test telemetry, range-safety, and system-safety requirements, ensuring compliance with program and regulatory standards.
- Manage control-account activities, including statement-of-work mapping, metrics collection, cost and schedule tracking, and reporting to senior leadership.
- Conduct technical risk assessments and supportability analyses, contributing to system integration, verification, validation, and overall program risk reduction.
- Ensure configuration management of test documentation, designs, and test assets throughout the technology-maturation phase.
- Prepare and deliver technical briefings, reports, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders, including customers and cross-functional teams.
- Liaise with customers, range partners, and cross-disciplinary IPTs to synchronize test schedules, resources, and objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying alternative test methods, process enhancements, and lessons learned to improve program performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of related work experience, or Masters and 6 years of related experience.
- Additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
- Minimum 5 years of test engineering experience, including development of test plans, procedures, and reporting, with at least 2 flight-test experiences.
- Demonstrated leadership of teams of 10+ personnel and project-management responsibility for cost, schedule, and technical performance.
Qualifications
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
- Strong partnership and collaboration skills; proven ability to work across integrated product teams and disciplines.
- Demonstrated program technical leadership, consistently meeting cost, schedule, and technical milestones.
- Familiarity with test telemetry systems, range safety, and system safety processes.
- Ability to generate innovative test solutions and drive alternative ideas to enhance program performance.
