About the role
Sheetak is a pioneer in solid-state thermoelectric technology, delivering precision thermal management solutions across industries including medical devices, aerospace, defense, data center cooling, and industrial electronics. As we continue to scale our thermoelectrics test engineering capabilities, we are seeking an experienced Test Engineer or Team Leader to join our team in Austin, Texas.
Responsibilities
- Perform TE material characterization to extract electrical conductivity, Seebeck, and Hall parameters in custom-made test chambers.
- Perform TE device characterization to extract maximum parameters (ΔT, voltage, current) and electrical properties (RDC, RAC).
- Perform standard wafer-level electrical measurements via probing on manual and semi-automatic probe stations.
- Create internal reports to summarize measurement results for distribution and presentation.
- Lead meetings to discuss TE material or device test results and data analysis that impact decision-making for material modeling and selection of TE materials.
- Write and modify LabVIEW test programs and data processing tools to improve testing throughput and efficiency.
- Maintain, modify, and design custom test fixtures as needed.
Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field.
- 3-5 years of work/laboratory experience; characterization of thermoelectric devices preferred.
- Knowledge of test automation tools such as LabVIEW, Python, or MATLAB.
- Knowledge of data processing and reporting through Python or MATLAB and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of data instrumentation and collection (digital multimeters, power supplies, data acquisition systems, relay switching).
- Familiarity with vacuum chambers and vacuum hardware (pumps, valves, hosing, sealants).
- Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment with occasional weekend work.
Preferred Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with CAD using SolidWorks or similar software.
- Experience with 3D printing for rapid prototyping.
- Experience with silicon wafer probe stations.
