About SiTime

SiTime is the Precision Timing company. Timing is the heartbeat of all electronics, ensuring performance, resilience and scalability. For decades, quartz devices, non-silicon technology, have kept systems in sync, but they struggle in harsher, more demanding environments. MEMS-based Precision Timing delivers greater accuracy, smaller size and resilience. Today, MEMS timing powers over 400 applications, including high-growth ones in AI datacenters, automated driving, industrial and humanoid robots, wearables and IoT. Our semiconductor MEMS programmable solutions offer a rich feature set that enables customers to differentiate their products with higher performance, smaller size, lower power, and better reliability. With more than 4 billion devices shipped, SiTime is changing the timing industry.

About the Role

As a Test Development Engineer, you will contribute to the development, validation, and deployment of production test solutions for Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and oven-based trimming/calibration systems. Working closely with product, design, manufacturing, and quality teams, you will support new product introduction (NPI), test program development, hardware bring-up, and data analytics initiatives to ensure robust and scalable manufacturing test solutions. This position offers an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers to gain hands-on experience in semiconductor test development, automation, system integration, and data-driven yield improvement. Candidates with strong technical fundamentals, programming aptitude, and a passion for problem-solving are encouraged to apply. It is not necessary to meet all job requirements to be a qualified candidate for the position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate, and release production test programs for Eagle Test Systems (ETS88) and oven-based trimming/calibration systems.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) activities by developing test methodologies and characterization plans.
  • Lead test program debugging, optimization, and correlation activities.
  • Improve test coverage, test time efficiency, and manufacturability to support high-volume production.
  • Lead the design, validation, and qualification of DUT boards, interface hardware, load boards, and test fixtures.
  • Lead hardware bring-up, system integration, and debugging activities.
  • Perform tester-to-tester, site-to-site, and platform correlation studies.
  • Conduct engineering evaluations and characterize test system performance.
  • Lead validation of hardware and software changes for test systems.
  • Execute qualification plans and document results for test releases.
  • Ensure all changes comply with engineering and quality requirements.
  • Maintain test documentation, procedures, and release records.
  • Work closely with Product Engineering, Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Equipment Engineering, and OSAT partners.
  • Lead technical discussions, design reviews, and test strategy development.
  • Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • At least 5 years of experience in semiconductor test, automation, manufacturing engineering, or related technical fields.

Skills

  • Basic understanding of semiconductor device testing and electronic measurement techniques.
  • Programming knowledge in C/C++.
  • Familiarity with software development, scripting, debugging, and data analysis.
  • Understanding of analog, mixed-signal, or power electronics fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and engineering problem-solving methodologies.
  • Exposure to Eagle ETS88 or other ATE platforms (preferred).
  • Familiarity with oven-based trimming, calibration, or characterization systems (preferred).
  • Experience with instrumentation such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, frequency counters, and switching systems (preferred).
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools such as JMP, Galaxy, Exensio, Power BI, or equivalent (preferred).
  • Exposure to Python or MATLAB is a plus.
  • Experience with lab projects involving hardware-software integration is advantageous (preferred).

Pay

The annual base salary range for this role is $124,920.00 - $171,770.00. The final offer is determined by factors such as location, experience, education, and training. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a quarterly bonus tied to the achievement of innovation goals. We also offer equity grants, providing a meaningful opportunity to share in the company’s future growth and success.

Benefits

  • 401k plan
  • Health and wellness benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, and parental leave
  • Legal services
  • Time off plans
