Test Engineer - Entry Level

General Dynamics Mission Systems is actively seeking a Test Engineer for our Secure Network and Voice Product Development Team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related Science, Technology or Mathematics field.
• Department of Defense SECRET security clearance is required at time of hire; U.S. citizenship is required.
• Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Responsibilities

• Work on an agile team to design and implement automated testing solutions.
• Develop automation within a test framework and integrate it into a CI/CD process (Jenkins, GitLab).
• Collaborate with developers to capture new and modified code.
• Solve complex problems and implement efficient solutions.
• Continuously learn and improve your coding skills in an environment that encourages innovation and creativity.
• Create test procedures from requirements.
• Transform existing design and new specifications into design, coding, testing, and debugging.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of a scripting language, preferably Python.
• Proficient knowledge of software tools supporting Integrated Development Environments (IDE), version control, defect reporting, and scripting.
• Ability to turn concepts, specifications, or requirements into design and code.
• Experience with testing and debugging.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.
• Understanding of software development best practices.
• Passion for coding and staying updated with the latest technologies.
• Ability to define the scope, schedule, and expectations for the work you execute.
• Shows initiative on assignments and executes projects with little guidance.
• Creative thinking with the ability to effectively multi-task.
• Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.

Workplace

This position is fully on-site at our Dedham location.

Pay

Target salary range: USD $84,500.00/Yr. – USD $86,700.00/Yr. Actual pay may vary based on experience and geographic location.
