Test Engineer

About the role

You will provide on-site project test engineering including (not limited to) environmental and electromagnetic testing of mobile, transportable shelter and C4I systems in the defense industry. Testing will involve MIL-STD-188-125-2A and MIL-STD-810H. As a Test Engineer, you will lead efforts required to verify that designs meet the customer’s requirements by participating in field testing. Test Duties may include preparation and coordination of over-arching test plans, preparation and coordination of detailed test plans and procedures, managing test conduct, preparation and coordination of final test reports, and following up on resolution to identified issues.

Responsibilities

• Support to Program and Project Managers, in the preparation, coordination, and customer approval of test-related documentation.
• Provide inputs to the development of product requirements and requirements verification traceability matrices.
• Collaborate with design engineers to develop efficient test concepts and procedures.
• Develop contract required test management plans, and detailed test plans and procedures.
• Prepare for and lead test conduct efforts.
• Prepare and deliver test reports.
• Ensure that design issues found during testing are resolved and coordinated with the customer.
• Support to test-related integrated product teams, e.g., Integrated Test Team/Test Working Groups.
• Provide guidance to managers on product verification issues.
• Review the work of others and be able to detect/report errors or needed modifications.

Requirements

• Active Secret Clearance
• Testing and Evaluation Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (various)
• Proficient with MS Office tools for data documentation, logging and analyzing.
• Experience with testing tools including meters, analyzers, data loggers, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance
• Master’s degree in engineering or physics
• Experience with test and evaluation of command and control systems
• Experience in high-altitude electromagnetic pulse test and evaluation
• Prior military or government contract experience
