Test Engineer Associate

About the Role

Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment. Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements. Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate labor, schedules, and equipment for testing standard and special devices.
• Define testing parameters and specify required tests for sample evaluation.
• Compile test data and recommend changes to testing equipment, procedures, or manufacturing processes.
• Conduct testing of customer samples and special tests not performed in the standard test area.
• Perform demanding physical duties in remote and sometimes harsh field environments.
• Operate and maintain test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and technical hand tools.
• Achieve and maintain commercial vehicle (CMV) operations certification to safely drive heavy-duty company pickup trucks, trailers, and generators.
• Comply with physical and information security standards and procedures.
• Adhere to Environmental Health and Safety standards, including handling and disposition of hazardous materials and waste.

Requirements

• Proficiency in general Windows-based PC applications.
• Effective communication and teaming skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Willingness to work in integration and test environments.
• Demonstrated ability to use typical test equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes) and technical hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, cable connector tools).
• Ability to obtain a secret security clearance; must have an interim secret clearance prior to start (U.S. citizenship required).

Desired Skills

• Familiarity with telemetry systems and automated or manual test equipment.
• Experience with drawings, wiring diagrams, troubleshooting, cable assembly, and testing.
• Experience with explosives and test range environments.
• Familiarity with RF antennas, telemetry acquisition systems, and copper/fiber optic data transmission systems and their repair.
• Current CMV certification or Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Current DOD secret clearance.

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $58,200.00 – $108,200.00

For Washington state applicants only: Non-represented full-time employees accrue at least 10 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO) per month and receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full-time employees accrue 6.67 hours of vacation per month, up to 52 hours of sick leave annually, and receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
