About the Role

Develops and implements methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing, and inspection to ensure products are free of flaws and function as designed. Designs and installs sophisticated testing equipment and performs product testing and analysis to maintain quality levels and minimize defects and failure rates. Analyzes reports and defective products to determine trends and recommend corrective actions. Collaborates with supplier representatives on quality problems, ensures effective corrective actions are implemented, and contributes to supplier quality improvement programs.

This role requires basic skills in analytical or scientific methods or operational processes, working within clearly defined standard operating procedures and adhering to quality guidelines. Performs tasks with close supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Performs standard testing processes on a variety of equipment and records and analyzes results.
  • Records data from testing in standard formats and provides results to product and engineering teams.
  • Assists technical teams with recommendations to resolve testing problems, roadblocks, or equipment malfunctions that impact testing performance or validity.
  • Requires knowledge of industry-specific tests and testing equipment.

Requirements

  • Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Engineering or equivalent training and experience.
  • Skills in engineering support, test execution, industry standards, test documentation, and test equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work may require exposure to changing climate conditions, both inside and outside, and/or operating machinery.
  • May be requested to work a different shift or outside normal business hours as required.
  • This position is safety-sensitive.

Travel Requirements

No or very little travel likely.
