Territory Manager - Personal Lines (Texas - Austin)

Territory: Texas - Austin & West Texas. The successful candidate must live within the assigned territory, preferably in the Austin metro area. This role requires frequent travel throughout the territory and regular, in-person engagement with agency partners.
Responsibilities
- Understand the strategic and operational goals of the assigned territory and individual distribution partners to identify mutually beneficial solutions, leveraging data, analytics, local marketplace information, and competitor knowledge.
- Proactively identify and implement actions to achieve territory goals.
- Lead new business and transfer processes, including identification of new transfer and new business appointments, setting expectations for results, and managing commitments.
- Leverage tools and resources (e.g., Salesforce, Seismic, dashboards, and reporting) to increase operational efficiency.
- Gather distribution partner feedback and share continuous improvement opportunities with business partners across the company.
- Collaborate with personal lines, farm geography partners, and other Nationwide counterparts (e.g., claims and servicing) on problem-solving, educating, promoting, reviewing sales practices, and providing input.
- Complete the annual planning process for appropriate distribution partners, document agreements in Salesforce, and hold partners accountable.
- Partner with Product, Marketing, and other business partners to identify and act on opportunities within the territory.
- Lead portfolio management meetings with distribution partners to ensure alignment with territory goals; monitor portfolio data to drive profitability and revenue.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong background in the independent agency distribution channel.
- Carrier-side sales management experience; a combination of carrier and agency-side experience is ideal.
- Proven ability to lead through influence and drive top-line performance.
- Must live within the assigned territory (Texas - Austin & West Texas), preferably in the Austin metro area.
- Frequent travel throughout the territory is required, with potential for overnight stays.
- A valid driver’s license and safe driving record are required.
- This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization; Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT Extension program.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate studies in general business, insurance, sales, marketing, or related fields; degree preferred.
- Typically eight to ten years of sales or sales management experience.
- Prior property casualty or financial services experience is desirable.

Pay
The national salary range for this role is $108,000.00 - $201,000.00. The expected starting salary range is $108,000.00 - $162,000.00. If a sales role, sales incentives based on performance goals are possible in addition to this range.
