About the role
You are responsible for driving new business growth and ensuring customer success within your designated territory. You will execute sales strategies, build strong customer relationships, and hit ambitious growth targets.
This role requires a proactive and hands-on approach, focusing on both expansion and long-term customer satisfaction. Your day-to-day could include prospecting new business, in-field sales, expanding existing opportunities, hitting sales targets, and customer account management.
You will prioritize daily efforts that optimize performance and drive value for your customers, working closely with cross-functional teams to share field insights and ensure Halter’s technology meets the needs of US farmers.
Responsibilities
- Prospecting New Business: Drive up driveways, attend local cattle auctions, meet with local livestock, cattlemen, stockman associations, and manage your new business pipeline through outbound lead generation.
- In-Field Sales: Be on horseback, help customers gather their cattle, traverse pastures on a side-by-side, talk about how Halter can benefit their pastures, and attend industry events like CattleCon or local Livestock Association meetups.
- Expanding Existing Opportunities: Find value in expanding relationships and finding new ways to increase value over time. Ensure your existing customers are satisfied and expand their use of Halter’s products.
- Hitting Sales Targets: Manage high-growth sales targets without second-guessing unqualified leads. Prioritize today’s deals while keeping next month in your sights.
- Customer Account Management: Build relationships with customers to ensure their ongoing satisfaction, provide support, and address any challenges they face with Halter’s products. Own the end-to-end customer experience during onboarding and deployment of Halter’s product.
- Field Learnings & Feedback: Gather customer feedback in your territory to advocate for what your customers need. Collaborate with support teams to resolve issues and ensure customers feel fully supported.
- Attending Industry Events: Leverage opportunities at relevant industry and Halter events to generate leads and deepen relationships with existing customers. Participate in demonstrations and network to expand Halter’s influence in the market.
- Contributing to the US Sales Strategy: Work with the broader team to optimize and evolve the sales process, ensuring it fits the US market. Strive to work with the team to drive greater efficiencies.
Requirements
- Driven Attitude & Communication Skills: Results-driven, motivated, and adaptable. Proactive and skilled at communicating with customers and internal teams.
- Ranching / Cattle Experience: Knowledge of ranching or cattle operations, understanding the unique challenges of the industry.
- Sales & Customer Success Expertise: History of creating new business opportunities, negotiating a value-based sales conversation, and building lasting customer relationships.
- Territory Management Experience: Experience managing a large territory with a balanced focus on sales and customer success, ideally within agriculture or technology.
- Problem Solving & Collaboration Ability: Resourceful and quick-thinking, working well with cross-functional teams to address challenges and drive solutions.
- Willingness to Travel: Frequent travel within your territory to engage with customers and prospects.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with precision agriculture or virtual fencing technologies.
- Background in customer-facing roles within agriculture technology.
- Background in selling software (SaaS) solutions in a B2B environment.
Skills

- Experience with virtual fencing technology and ranching/cattle operations.
