About the Role
As a full-time Territory Sales Manager at Famous Footwear, you will lead your teams to provide the best shoe store experience for the whole family. You are a multi-unit people leader responsible for meeting and exceeding Talent, Culture, and Operational goals. Through personal demonstration, training, and development, you create an in-store culture that fosters customer loyalty to your stores, our brands, and our company. You stay up-to-date on trends and educate your teams to do the same, ensuring every customer experiences the "Famous Feeling."
Responsibilities
- Proactive Succession Planning: Develop a talent plan based on individual store and/or market needs. Invest in and develop internal talent, encouraging associates to consider career development. Allocate resources to build a strong internal pipeline for leader development.
- Orchestrate Talent Discovery: Proactively source and attract external talent with the expertise and skills needed to enhance team potential and align with the company’s vision, emphasizing customer relationships, operational excellence, and flawless execution.
- Drive Multi-Unit Retail Operations: Lead consistent execution of operational, merchandising, and selling strategies. Apply store standards and leverage resources to navigate complexities. Identify customer feedback themes and share insights with peers across the zone.
- Exercise a Purpose-driven & Analytical Mindset: Take ownership of goals and act with purpose to achieve them. Use customer experience and market demographics to coach teams on selling behaviors.
- Be the Architect of a Winning Culture: Create an inclusive work environment where diversity is valued. Maintain a positive mindset, especially in difficult situations, and promote team engagement to improve retention and performance.
- Exhibit Effective & Informed Decision Making: Objectively assess situations and make well-informed decisions, even with incomplete information, using sound judgment over emotion.

Essential Functions: Other responsibilities may be performed as needed to ensure the needs of the business are met.
Requirements
- 5+ years of retail store management experience; multi-store experience preferred.
- Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within stores and with corporate partners.
- Demonstrated ability to set objectives, organize work, and exceed goals.
- Strong leadership, management, and communication skills at all levels.
- Ability to train, coach, and develop managers.
- Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision-making, financial, and quantitative analysis.
- Working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
- Ability to influence at all levels and work effectively within a team.
- Flexibility to work holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours as needed.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, email, and internet.
Qualifications
- Some college required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
- Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time.
