TERRITORY MANAGER
Pay: $80,000-$110,000 per year, with compensation including commission and bonus opportunities.
About the role
Innovative IDM, a premier Industrial Automation and Motion Controls Distributor, is seeking a Territory Manager with a strong technical background and a passion for sales. In this role, you will drive sales growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities while maintaining and growing existing accounts. You will work with a diverse customer base, including food processors, machinery manufacturers, and companies involved in forming, fabricating, and extruding.
As a Sales Engineer, you will help customers solve complex automation and manufacturing challenges that impact machine performance, profitability, and time-to-market. By understanding each customer's machines, applications, and business goals, you will identify opportunities to improve designs, specify the right components, address part obsolescence, solve technical challenges, reduce risk, and improve margins. You will leverage Innovative-IDM's automation expertise and value-added manufacturing capabilities to deliver solutions that enhance machine performance, increase production, reduce lead times, and maintain a competitive advantage.
Responsibilities
- Find, develop, and maintain relationships with customers.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive sales growth.
- Provide technical expertise and product demonstrations to customers.
- Conduct weekly phone work to set up face-to-face appointments.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop solutions that meet customer needs.
- Perform joint sales calls with vendor representatives.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with customers and suppliers.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in sales or business development in a technical industry preferred.
- Strong technical background in industrial automation systems and equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, Servo systems, timers, switches, temperature controllers, VFDs, and process controls.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with CRM and MS Office products.
