TERRITORY MANAGER
Pay: $80,000–$100,000+ per year, plus commission, bonus, and supplemental pay.
About the role
Innovative IDM, a premier Industrial Automation and Motion Controls Distributor, is seeking a Territory Manager with a strong technical background and a passion for sales. You will drive sales growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities while maintaining and growing existing accounts. Our customers range from food processors to machinery manufacturers and companies involved in forming, fabricating, and extruding. We help businesses combat lost productivity and eroded margins caused by production bottlenecks, process inefficiencies, and downtime.
Unlike typical distributors, we don’t just push products. We take the time to understand our customers’ products and processes, then combine that knowledge with our extensive application and product expertise to create effective solutions that reduce bottlenecks, improve efficiency, and increase uptime.
Responsibilities
- Find, develop, and maintain relationships with customers
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive sales growth
- Provide technical expertise and support to customers
- Conduct weekly phone work to set up face-to-face appointments
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop solutions that meet customer needs
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers
- Participate in joint sales calls with vendor representatives
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with customers
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in sales or business development in a technical industry preferred
- Strong technical background in industrial automation systems and equipment (PLCs, HMIs, Servo systems, timers, switches, temperature controllers, VFDs, and process controls)
- Experience with CRM and MS Office products
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
