About the Role
ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced Territory Sales Manager with a background in the automotive industry and a passion for cars. This role is an opportunity to join a growing company and be the face of ACV, building relationships with dealerships and dealer groups to maximize revenue opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Actively support efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to grow new business in your territory.
- Service accounts in person and via phone, identifying growth opportunities.
- Utilize Salesforce daily for reporting and tracking.
- Achieve or exceed established sales goals.
- Develop and leverage relationships with dealers and dealer groups.
- Understand and sell against the competition.
- Assess customers’ wholesale inventory needs and offer solutions.
- Educate customers on ACV’s products and services.
- Forecast and report incoming business activity monthly and annually.
- Ensure customers and prospects understand ACV’s products through a consultative selling approach.
- Respond quickly to customer problems, concerns, or needs.
- Proactively market ACV to customers.
- Manage financial activity within your book of business.
- Adapt to changes in customer contacts and internal structure.
- Manage Vehicle Condition Inspectors and KPIs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years of dealership experience (used or new car side).
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Experience selling into dealerships and auction knowledge preferred.
- Willingness to travel daily to existing and prospect dealerships.
- Understanding of the retail/wholesale marketplace.
- Excellent relationship-building skills (in-person and over the phone).
- Ability to build internal and external networks.
- Upbeat and positive demeanor.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Adaptability to shifting priorities.
- Experience using a CRM (preferably Salesforce).
- Ability to travel for meetings and training.
- Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle.
Qualifications
- Automotive industry experience.
- Sales and relationship-building expertise.
- Proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce preferred).

Compensation: The base compensation range for this position includes an annualized geographical differential. This role is eligible for additional compensation with a variable target of $48,000. Final compensation is determined based on experience, skillset, location, market demands, and performance.
