Terms Of Reference For: 2 National Consultant To Supervise The MAR Construction Works (Mount Elgon Shared Aquifer One Consultant For Uganda Site & One Consultant For Kenya Site)
The Nile Basin Initiative intends to employ the services of Individual National Consultant to participate in and support the Supervision for the MAR Construction Works (Mount Elgon shared Aquifer)- in consultation with the international consultant, and the implementation consultants. The assignment described in these ToRs is funded through NBI member country contributions, and Global Environment Facility through United Nations Development Program.
About the role
The role involves supervising the construction works for the Mount Elgon shared aquifer project in both Uganda and Kenya. The consultant will work closely with the international consultant and implementation consultants to ensure the quality and timely completion of the project.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the construction works for the Mount Elgon shared aquifer project in both Uganda and Kenya.
- Ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and standards.
- Monitor progress and report on project status to the international consultant and implementation consultants.
- Resolve issues that arise during the construction process.
- Collaborate with local authorities and stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in construction supervision.
- Proven track record in managing similar projects in the region.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Fluency in English and knowledge of local languages may be beneficial.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Professional certification in construction management preferred.
