Terminal Manager (Med Terminal)

Responsibilities

• Direct all terminal employees on daily jobs and tasks.
• Coordinate terminal maintenance operations including some barge maintenance and repair.
• Manage barge unloading operations.
• Negotiate with contractors and vendors for the best possible contracts and pricing.
• Manage all safety procedures and produce and maintain OSHA records.
• Supervise contractors for all terminal and barge maintenance and repairs.
• Enforce company policies and Union Contracts.
• Purchase terminal materials and supplies within budget guidelines.
• Maintain and report terminal inventory.
• Conduct, document, and record Monthly Safety Meetings.
• Manage and comply with Environmental regulations and recordkeeping.
• Recruit, interview, and recommend new hires.
• Evaluate performance and train/discipline terminal employees as necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Prior barge experience.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years industrial management experience.
• Industrial mechanical maintenance knowledge.
• Ability to lift 75 – 100 pounds on a regular and repeated basis.
• Ability to work at heights up to 150 feet, in both extreme heat and cold.
• Ability to work in enclosed, noisy, and dusty environments.
• Ability to read and comprehend safety and operating instructions.
