About the role

The University of Alaska Fairbanks College of Liberal Arts Department of Social Work invites applications for a Term Clinical Assistant Professor of Social Work position. We are seeking a dynamic, student-centered educator who is passionate about teaching in a multidisciplinary, online, and rural-serving program.

Responsibilities

  • Teach across multiple modalities, including SWK F103: Introduction to Social Work and upper-division 300-level major courses
  • Support and mentor diverse students
  • Contribute to the university through service, community engagement, and support of accreditation activities
  • Hold office hours appropriate to the courses taught
  • Participate in departmental, college, and university committees
  • Engage in community and public service activities
  • Support program accreditation processes
  • Serve as faculty advisor for at least one student organization

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited program and at least two years of post-MSW professional social work practice in human services, behavioral health, child welfare, or related community-based settings required
  • Experience working with Alaska Native, Indigenous, or rural populations, demonstrating cultural competence and community engagement
  • Experience teaching or developing distance-delivered or online coursework
  • A demonstrated commitment to public service and community collaboration consistent with the mission of the University of Alaska Fairbanks
