About the role

The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences at the School of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (SVMBS) at Texas A&M University invites applications for a full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty position in medical oncology.

Responsibilities

  • Major portion of time (35% effort negotiable) dedicated to research, clinical instruction, and patient care in the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH).
  • 35% clinical responsibilities: primary management of cases, instruction of veterinary students and technicians, mentorship of interns and residents, and occasional after-hours emergency coverage.
  • 20% classroom and laboratory teaching: education of professional students in the integrated curriculum and opportunities to interface with graduate students across multiple disciplines.
  • 10% academic citizenship: service to committees, working groups, and professional organizations.

Requirements

  • DVM degree (or equivalent) and ACVIM-Oncology diplomate status or completion of an approved residency and board certification in oncology.
  • Licensed or eligible for regular or special licensing to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Texas.
