Open Rank Tenure Track or Tenured Faculty Positions in Cancer Research
About the role
Virginia Tech (VT) invites applications for multiple faculty positions at any rank in cancer research. These appointments are part of a major initiative at VT’s Fralin Biomedical Research Institute (FBRI) Cancer Research Centers. Faculty will join an interdisciplinary team of cancer researchers at VT campuses in Roanoke and Washington DC and collaborate with researchers across VT and Children’s National Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Establish and lead a competitive, extramurally funded cancer research program
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams across VT and affiliated institutions
- Mentor graduate, medical, and undergraduate students in research
- Participate in teaching graduate-level courses, as applicable
- Contribute to the research community through publications and presentations
Required Qualifications
- Earned doctorate (PhD, MD, and/or DVM) in a relevant field
- Postdoctoral research experience
- Proven record of high-quality publications
- Demonstrated success in securing extramural funding appropriate to the desired faculty rank
Appointment Details
- Exempt from overtime
- Regular, full-time faculty appointment
