About the role
The Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology & Neuroscience at LSU Health Shreveport seeks to expand its faculty through the appointment of full-time, tenure-track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professors. The department is led by Dr. Jiliang Zhou and is supported by significant institutional investment in research.
Responsibilities
- Establish innovative, extramurally funded research programs focusing on cancer biology, neuroscience, and cardiovascular biology.
- Conduct cutting-edge research in areas such as neuropharmacology, cardiovascular pharmacology, neuroscience, toxicology, drug addiction, drug discovery for neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders, cancer, and space medicine.
- Particularly interested in candidates with research programs centered on cancer pharmacology and associated cardiovascular or neurobiological complications.
- Employ cutting-edge approaches such as single-cell omics, spatial biology, advanced in vivo and in vitro models, or computational methods.
- Applicants with NIH K99/R00 awards or current/pending R01-level funding will be especially competitive.
Requirements
- Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. in pharmacology or a related biomedical field.
- A minimum of two years of postdoctoral training.
- A strong record of research productivity with a clear trajectory toward independent funding.
