Cancer Pharmacology and Drug Discovery– Tenure Track Faculty (Assistant/Associate)

About the role

Rutgers Cancer Institute invites applications for faculty positions in cancer research for tenure track and non-tenure track positions. New tenure track faculty are expected to establish or support an innovative, independent and collaborative research program addressing important, fundamental questions in the area of cancer biology. Interdisciplinary and translational approaches are encouraged that establish collaborations with consortium faculty. Candidates with a demonstrated ability to secure peer reviewed funding are preferred. Faculty will have the exciting opportunity to be involved in teaching activities for medical students and residents as well as targeted lectures in their area of expertise.

Responsibilities

• Establish or support an innovative, independent and collaborative research program addressing important, fundamental questions in the area of Cancer Pharmacology and Drug Discovery.
• Conduct research focused on drug discovery and development, the biology of key molecular targets of cancer, and mechanisms of action and resistance of cancer therapies.
• Engage in preclinical and/or clinical therapeutics research that originates from, or is directly informed by, the laboratory science of the programs' current/future efforts.

Requirements

Ph.D. in Cancer Biology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field required. ABD candidates may be considered.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to secure peer reviewed funding.
• Experience in translation of basic science to patient care or drug discovery using innovative small molecule drug discovery technologies.
• Engagement in preclinical and/or clinical therapeutics research that originates from, or is directly informed by, the laboratory science of the programs' current/future efforts.

Skills

• Strong background in translation of basic science to patient care or drug discovery.
• Experience with DNA-encoded library screening, molecular glue, PROTAC and other innovative small molecule drug discovery technologies.
• Therapeutic antibody engineering and development skills.

Pay

Estimated annual salary: $107,283 for Assistant or Associate Professor - Tenure Track, and $65,812 for Tenure-Track Assistant Professor.
