About the role

The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy seeks a highly motivated individual for an assistant professorship in the Division of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences. This position is a 12-month, full-time, ranked, tenure-track faculty position located on the UMKC Hospital Hill campus in the vibrant Health Sciences District at the center of Kansas City, MO.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and maintain an extramurally-funded research program that supports the training and mentoring of students in the PhD program and contributes to the R1 status of the university.
  • Train PharmD students in appropriate course work and contribute to the certificate program.
  • Contribute to the mission of the UMKC School of Pharmacy, which includes advancing pharmacy education, research, and practice to improve health outcomes in Missouri and beyond.

Requirements

  • PhD, MD/DO, and/or PharmD with teaching experience in a relevant field.
  • 2+ years of postdoctoral training or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent background of primary research publications in high-impact scientific journals.
  • Possess a genuine passion for research and teaching.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and/or training in teaching and mentorship in higher education.
  • Experience working in or with governmental organizations at the state or federal level.
