About the role

Tulane University, one of the nation's premier research institutions, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Mechanical Engineering within the Department of Physics and Engineering Physics. Our department is committed to fostering interdisciplinary and collaborative excellence by integrating physics with core engineering disciplines. We seek to substantially grow our Mechanical Engineering program, which currently includes a minor and a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering alongside our established undergraduate major in Engineering Physics and PhD program in Materials Physics & Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative research projects in Mechanical Engineering.
• Teach a range of courses in Mechanical Engineering, including both undergraduate and graduate level courses.
• Participate in departmental and university committees and initiatives.
• Secure external funding for research projects.

Requirements

• A PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong record of research accomplishments.
• Excellent teaching skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive environment.
