About the role
This is a temporary position starting at $18.00-$19.00 per hour and is anticipated to not exceed 9 months. Employment starts 04/11/2026 - 10/11/2026.
Responsibilities
- Perform boat inspector and decontaminator responsibilities according to state regulations and standard protocols at Jumbo Reservoir near Crook, Colorado.
- Site lead boat inspector will be responsible for providing on the job training to inspection staff, creating schedules and making sure all shifts are covered during operational hours, collecting and verifying accurate time keeping records for payroll purposes, working with area work lead to resolve challenges with staff and customers, and recommending hiring/firing of employees to area work lead.
- Ensure inspection station staff are following standardized protocols by performing quality control assessments on a monthly basis, ensuring data entry is being performed accurately and completely by all inspection station staff, maintaining inventory of all required supplies, performing basic maintenance & troubleshooting on power washer/decontamination unit, and providing public outreach on aquatic invasive species.
- Early morning, evening, and weekend work is required.
Requirements
- FOR LEAD: Good driving record and ability to work weekends, early mornings, and late evenings. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent customer service experience working with the public. Reliable and timely. Ability to self-motivate and work independently.

Qualifications
- FOR LEAD: High school diploma. Experience working with boats, trailers, power washers, small engines, and/or heavy equipment preferred. Experience with Microsoft Word applications – Word, Excel, Access.
- FOR NON LEAD: High school diploma. Experience working with boats, trailers, power washers, small engines and/or heavy equipment preferred.
