About the role

This is a temporary position starting at $19.00-$20.00 per hour and is anticipated to not exceed 9 months.

Responsibilities

  • Perform boat inspector and decontaminator responsibilities according to state regulations and standard protocols at Williams Fork Reservoir near Kremmling, Colorado in Grand County.
  • Lead boat inspector responsibilities include:
    • Providing on-the-job training to inspection staff.
    • Making sure all shifts are covered during operational hours.
    • Collecting and verifying accurate time keeping records for payroll purposes.
    • Working with area work lead to resolve challenges with staff and customers.
    • Recommend hiring/firing of employees to area work lead.
  • Quality control assessments on a monthly basis.
  • Ensuring data entry is being performed accurately and completely by all inspection station staff.
  • Maintaining inventory of all required supplies.
  • Performing basic maintenance & troubleshooting on power washer/decontamination unit.
  • Providing public outreach on aquatic invasive species.

Requirements

  • Good driving record and ability to work weekends, early morning and late evenings.
  • Experience working with boats, trailers, power washers, small engines and/or heavy equipment preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent customer service experience working with the public desired.
  • Reliable and timely.
  • Able to self-motivate and work independently.

Qualifications

  • Pursuant to the DNR-120 Fleet and Driving Standards Administrative Directive, any worker who will be expected to drive a State-owned vehicle is responsible for maintaining a safe driving record and a valid driver license prior to driving any State-owned vehicle.
