Job Summary

The Registered Nurse leads the health care team, providing professional nursing care according to established standards and policies. The role involves demonstrating leadership, adhering to regulatory requirements, and ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Essential Responsibilities

• Upholds Kaiser Permanente’s policies and procedures, and relevant state and federal laws.
• Serves as a leader of the health care team, delegating tasks appropriately and holding team members accountable.
• Understands and respects the scope of practice for both the nurse and team members, and escalates issues as necessary.
• Communicates effectively within the team and with patients and families, promoting a positive patient care experience.
• Participates in problem-solving and mentoring, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Ensures the plan of care is developed and revised based on patient progress and conditions.
• Maintains a clean, orderly, and functional work environment, treating all patients and families with respect and compassion.
• Provides clear and understandable information about medications, treatments, and discharge instructions.
• Monitors patient safety, including preventing falls, decubitus ulcers, and nosocomial infections.
• Supports a collaborative Labor-Management Partnership environment through participation in unit-based teams.
• Minimizes overtime usage and identifies opportunities for system improvement.

Experience

• Minimum one (1) year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in Emergency Department.
• No formal educational requirements.
• Registered Nurse License (California) and Basic Life Support from American Heart Association are required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support may be preferred.

Additional Requirements

• This is a temporary seasonal position, non-benefited with a commitment duration of 5 months from date of hire.
• Will be required to work every other weekend and some holidays.
• FT or PT non-benefited, commitment of 5 months from date of hire.
• Primary location: Harbor City, South Bay Medical Center.
• Scheduled weekly hours: 36.
• Shift: Night.
• Workdays: Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat.
• Working hours start: 07:30 PM.
• Job schedule: Full-time.
• Employee status: Temporary.
• Location: Onsite.
• Travel: No.
• Work setting: Onsite.

Pay Range

$69.95 - $74.15 / hour.

The posted pay range is based on possible base salaries for the role and does not reflect the full value of our total rewards package. Actual base pay determined at offer will be based on labor market data, internal alignment, and a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
