TEMPORARY- SEAMIST Instructor

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the Program Specialist to update and close out all courses.
• Responds to daily inquiries in a timely manner.
• Updates attendance rosters for each class.
• Provides copies to the SEAMIST staff for filing, and data cross reference.
• Communicates with the POC before each training to ensure the training site has the necessary tools for classroom instruction.
• Marks the program course offerings, attends required conferences and workshops designated by the program staff.
• Prepares training folders and supplies prior to each training.
• Conducts inventor inspections and reports findings to the SEAMIST staff.
• Enters travel reimbursements within 14 days of completed trip into Concur.
• Reviews and corrects unique ID numbers and evaluation occupations.

Requirements

• The type of shift varies based on the requirements of teaching assignments. Weekend/evening teaching may be required. May require travel to off-site locations to accommodate customer/client training needs.
• Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with diverse students.
  • Proficiency in the use of audio-visual equipment.
  • Establishment of a supportive and conducive learning environment.
  • Exemplification of professional conduct as a role model.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Required Experience: 0 to 2 years of related experience
• Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual HazMat Technician Level first responder and/or Industrial Hygienist, Teaching Certification with OSHA, HAZWOPER, FEMA, DOT and/or EPA
