About the role

The Center for Advancement Teaching is seeking a Temporary Instructional Designer to join their team of professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure website content and surveys follow institutional standards for accessibility, usability, branding, and communication.
  • Conduct quality assurance testing of surveys and website pages prior to launch or final approval.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve content, formatting, navigation, survey logic, and other identified issues within the scope of the project.
  • Collaborate with Center staff and relevant stakeholders to gather requirements, review drafts, incorporate feedback, and obtain final approvals.
  • Track project tasks, milestones, revisions, and outstanding items to ensure timely completion of the assignment.
  • Develop or update documentation describing survey processes, website updates, maintenance procedures, and other relevant project information.
  • Organize and maintain project files, source materials, templates, and other documentation to support continuity after the temporary assignment ends.
  • Provide recommendations for ongoing maintenance and improvements to the Center's surveys and website.
  • Complete a final review of project deliverables and provide a clear handoff to Center staff upon completion.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary to successfully complete the project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one (1) year of experience; or a Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization.

Qualifications

  • Strong written communication and editing skills.
  • Knowledge of accessibility and user-centered design principles.
  • Degree in instructional design, engineering, or data analytics (desired).
  • Strong attention to detail and quality assurance skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple project tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience taking an existing project from an initial or partially completed stage through final implementation and handoff.

Benefits

As a temporary employee, you will not be eligible to participate in all employee benefit programs (e.g., paid leave, retirement, or tuition reimbursement). Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), a temporary employee who works on average 30 hours or more per week may be eligible to enroll in health care benefits. Temporary employees are also eligible to enroll in supplemental plans (e.g., dental, vision), which require full payment on your part.

Pay

$22.00 per hour

Schedule

9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
