Essential Functions

• Affords assessments of physical, psychological, and social dimensions of the patient.
• Applies knowledge of illnesses, injuries, and diseases and utilizes available resources in the assessment process.
• Documents nursing interventions, patient responses, effectiveness, and complications.
• Summarizes information for discharge.
• Develops and communicates a nursing care plan.
• Executes clinical and technical aspects of care and nursing orders.

• Unit Requirements

  • Care for various age groups, from pediatrics to geriatrics.

  • Professional Leadership

    • Reports patient care or management problems to Clinical Coordinator and /or supervisor.
    • Coordinates unit routines, providing guidance to staff, orienting new staff, and ensuring the presence and working order of emergency equipment.

    Personal Growth and Development

    • Identifies own learning needs and seeks opportunities for self-growth.
    • Completes annual nursing competencies.
    • Attends annual mandatory day.
    • Evaluates for age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, and physiological norms of patients.
    • Uses interview and communication techniques that are age-appropriate.

    Qualifications

    • Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing Required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred.
    • Licenses and Credentials: Registered Nurse [RN - State License] - Generic - HR Only required.
    • Experience: ED: 3 years of prior, related ED experience preferred; TNCC & NRP preferred; CPI/AVADE/MOAB training preferred; Med/Surg, Infusion, LDRP: 1 year of prior, related medical/surgical experience preferred; NCMG: minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience preferred; Perioperative: at least 2 years of prior perioperative experience; Dialysis: more than 1 year of experience in a medical/surgical unit required; Dialysis: critical care experience preferred; Dialysis: ACLS preferred; Infusion: Strong IV skills or certification; LDRP: at least 2 years of prior labor and delivery experience preferred.
