Temporary Research Technician

Temporary position located in Raleigh, NC.

About the role

The Research Technician will support the lab’s research and operational activities through data analysis, report preparation, plant care, and general research assistance. The position requires a dependable, organized individual who can work independently and collaboratively while contributing to the mission and priorities of the lab.

Responsibilities

• Organize, review, and analyze research data using appropriate software and established procedures.
• Prepare reports, summaries, tables, figures, and other materials that communicate research findings.
• Maintain accurate and complete research records, files, and documentation.
• Assist with routine plant care and maintenance, including watering, monitoring plant health, cleaning work areas, and other activities as assigned.
• Provide organizational support for lab projects and activities.
• Complete additional duties that support the lab’s mission, research objectives, and day-to-day operations.
• Follow all applicable laboratory, greenhouse, workplace safety, and university procedures.

Requirements

• Combination of training and experience required to perform the duties.
• Experience collecting, organizing, and analyzing research or laboratory data.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple assignments and meeting deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Statistical software experience (SAS and JMP).
• Experience with data analysis, spreadsheets, report preparation, research, or plant care.
• Previous experience supporting university or agricultural research programs.
• Knowledge of experimental design and research protocols.
