Temporary Research Technician E

Responsibilities

• Work independently under the supervision of the Principal Investigator on projects related to traumatic brain injury and hippocampal neurogenesis.
• Manage the Principal Investigator's laboratory.
• Determine the role of ApoE in the process of hippocampal neurogenesis induced by traumatic brain injury.
• Perform complex technical procedures requiring only rare guidance.
• Routinely order supplies and equipment for the laboratory.
• Frequently train or guide other technical personnel.
• Frequently authorize modifications to experimental protocols.
• Analyze and interpret data.
• Made occasional written contributions to papers and grant proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related science and more than six years of experience required or equivalent skills and experience.
• Familiarity with protein, pipetting, and general biology.
• Extensive experience with making solutions and pH'ing solutions.
• Prior experience with animal work is required.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

This is a temporary position ending on June 30, 2027. The hourly rates for this position are listed below, based on the 1199 bargaining unit contract:

• Hiring Rate: USD $43.27/Hr.
• Post Probationary Rate: USD $43.80/Hr.
• Job Rate: USD $45.62/Hr.
• Minimum Salary Range: USD $43.27/Hr.
• Maximum Salary Range: USD $43.27/Hr.
