About the role
The Temporary Undergraduate Research Technician will be engaged in various activities such as wet lab tasks, DNA extraction from fungal herbarium specimens. Proficiency in aseptic techniques is essential, as the new hire will be responsible for maintaining mycological cultures with precision. This involves tasks such as isolating RNA/DNA from mycological tissues, performing techniques like PCR and quantitative PCR, executing agarose gel electrophoresis, and conducting plant pathological assessments.Requirements and Preferences

Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pmDepartment Required Skills
Experience working with hard to culture fungi, plants and plant pathogensExperience with Microsoft Office
Wet lab skills: sterile technique, PCR, electrophoresis, etc.
Strong oral and written communication
Ability to train student workers.
