Temporary Purchasing Expeditor

Responsible for communicating with suppliers to ensure critical deliveries arrive at our dock. Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task while managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Follows up with suppliers on past due purchase orders.
• Expedites parts that are critical for operations.
• Contacts suppliers to obtain tracking information on critical parts.
• Maintains constant contact with vendors to verify parts will arrive on time.
• Tracks shipments to the dock.
• Notifies supervisor in a timely manner if a critical delivery is delayed.
• Informs pricing discrepancies to the buyer.
• Ensures acknowledgments are received.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Computer proficiency.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Skills

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Must be able to read and understand English.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
