Responsible for communicating with suppliers to ensure critical deliveries arrive at our dock. Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task while managing multiple priorities.
Responsibilities
- Follows up with suppliers on past due purchase orders.
- Expedites parts that are critical for operations.
- Contacts suppliers to obtain tracking information on critical parts.
- Maintains constant contact with vendors to verify parts will arrive on time.
- Tracks shipments to the dock.
- Notifies supervisor in a timely manner if a critical delivery is delayed.
- Informs pricing discrepancies to the buyer.
- Ensures acknowledgments are received.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Computer proficiency.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Must be able to read and understand English.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
