Temporary - Program Specialist - Zero Cost Textbook
About the role
The Mendocino-Lake Community College District is seeking a Short-Term, Non-Continuing Program Specialist - Zero Cost Textbook to assist with the Zero Cost Textbook Program. This is a temporary, non-continuing position open until filled.
Responsibilities
- Track textbook information for the bookstore, schedule and MIS reporting.
- Communicate textbook information with librarians and schedulers.
- Support faculty with OER accessibility, such as creating alt text and checking closed captioning.
- Work with Excel and Microsoft Office programs.
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct activities and/or programs.
- Serve as a liaison between Mendocino College and appropriate stakeholders.
- Disseminate information on program.
- Participate in department meetings, provide information and/or reports on relevant issues.
- Aid, follow up, and support stakeholders regarding program processes and sourcing other available programs and services.
- Prepare and maintain a variety of correspondence, reports, documents, and forms; maintain and organize records and files.
- Keep all necessary records and submit required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Operate a variety of office equipment including a computer and Microsoft Office software.
- Attend required meetings and professional development sessions as directed by the manager.
Requirements
Must meet Human Resources guidelines for qualified hiring; including by not limited to a Live Scan background check and completion of TB test. Must have at least two years of experience in an administrative/educational environment. Educational Requirements: AA required, BA preferred. Licenses and Certifications: Employee must possess valid Class C driver's license, and an acceptable driving record. Must have access to personal vehicle (subject to mileage reimbursement) that can safely drive throughout Lake and Mendocino Counties.

- Must have knowledge of community resources, programs, and needs associated with stakeholders.
- Must have strong technology skills.
- Must have physical ability to sit, reach, bend, walk, stand for long periods, and light lifting (up to 25 lbs).
- Must have repetitive motion based on computer/filing practices use may be required.
- Must have occasional outdoor environmental exposure; including but not limited to events and/or special projects.
