Examples of Duties
- Affords assistance in the hiring of election judges and schedules their training
- Affords assistance in proofreading processed batches of registration
- Prioritizes data processing tasks to ensure timely completion in accordance with office policies and procedures
- Handles voter registrations applications
- Affords assistance with special projects including mass mailings, petitions, redistricting, verifications, voter education, canvassing elections, packing judge supplies, and surveys
- Maintains and secures files daily
- Affords assistance with the preparation and conduct of elections to meet all deadlines, including processing voter registration, provisional ballots, record retention, reports, certificates, and other information in compliance with local, state, and federal laws
- Operates office machinery, photocopiers, fax machines, and calculators
- Updates and maintains filing systems, lists, log books, and rosters
- Answers routine inquiries from the public, or directs inquiries to proper agency
Qualifications
- Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate high school equivalency
- One year's general clerical experience
Conditions of Employment
- Must be available to work 40 hours/week with some mandatory overtime on evenings and weekends during the Election year
- Physical and environmental conditions involve special demands such as lifting 50 pounds or more, climbing ladders, etc.

Employment Benefits for Non-Merit or Non-Classified, Part-Time Employees
- Participation in Baltimore County Employees' Retirement System with very limited exceptions
- Sick leave - prorated based on hours worked per week, no maximum on accrual, can be applied toward service credit at retirement
- Vacation leave - prorated based on hours worked per week, earnings increase after five, ten, and fifteen years of service generally
- Holidays - 10 holidays per calendar year for part-time 30 to 39 hour non-merit or non-classified employees, 2 paid holidays per calendar year for part-time, non-merit or non-classified employees working 29 hours per week or less, including Christmas and Independence Day holidays
