Responsibilities
- Reviewing and analyzing Juno-JADE data to determine the times and locations of Bow Shock and Magnetopause crossings.
- Create and maintain a structured database of identified boundary crossings that may be made publicly available for future scientific use.
- Using Python or similar programming tools to process, analyze, and organize spacecraft data.
- Documenting analysis methods, assumptions, and findings in a clear and reproducible manner.
- Aiding in the preparation of figures, tables, and written descriptions for inclusion in a scientific manuscript.
- Contributing to the development of a publishable paper based on the research findings.
- Working with the supervising researcher to refine data products, verify results, and support final publication preparation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in physics, astronomy, astrophysics, planetary science, space physics, engineering, or a closely related field.
- Experience using Python for scientific data analysis.
- Experience working with Juno-JADE data or closely related spacecraft/space physics datasets.
- Experience conducting independent research or contributing to a scientific research project.
- Ability to analyze scientific data and interpret results in the context of planetary magnetospheres, space plasma physics, or a related field.
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to contribute to technical or scientific writing.
