Job Summary

The Department of Computer Science is seeking a Temporary Researcher to lead and contribute to research projects in perception, machine learning, and robotics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct research projects in the areas of perception, machine learning, and robotics.
  • Analyze, interpret, and present data and research findings to the team and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the writing and publishing of research papers and reports.
  • Collaborate with fellow researchers and faculty within the group.
  • Aid in preparing research proposals and securing funding.

What You Should Know

  • This is a temporary, part-time role with a duration of less than 12 months.
  • The role requires a commitment of 32 hours per week.
  • There may be occasional requirements to work outside of standard business hours for important meetings or deadlines.
  • Continuous learning and staying updated on recent advancements will be necessary due to the evolving nature of the field.

What We Can Offer

  • Hire rate: $35.00 per hour, working 32 hours per week.
  • Paid sick leave for temporary positions.

What We Require

  • A Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrable experience in the fields of perception, machine learning, and robotics.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python and C++.
  • A strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and their applications.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

What We Would Like You To Have

  • A PhD (completed or near completion) in Robotics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field.
  • Prior experience leading research projects or teams.
  • A publication record in relevant fields.
  • Experience with grant writing and securing research funding.
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art robot perception and learning techniques.
