Description of Job
Assist the Property Technician with the daily maintenance and improvement of State Wildlife Areas in Rio Blanco County. Primary duties will include but are not limited to:
- Noxious weed control
- Facility and equipment maintenance
- Fence repair and construction
- Mandatory big game animal checks
- Operating and maintaining vehicles, trailers, weed spraying equipment, All Terrain Vehicles (ATV’s), Skid steers, excavators, tractors, power tools, and chainsaws
- Handling animal carcasses
- Data recording and record keeping
- Interacting with and answering questions from hunters and anglers
- Auxiliary support for District Wildlife Managers, Biologists, and other Property Technicians with wildlife management tasks

- BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Must have a current & valid drivers' license or reliable transportation
- The work-site will provide some uniform items, however the employee may be required to purchase limited uniform items at their own expense
- Applicants may be subject to successful completion of a comprehensive background check
- Must be willing and able to work 40 hours per week
- Must be available to work varied shifts (please provide additional details if known)
- Preference may be given to applicants with or working towards a Natural Resources degree or similar education
- Ability to work with limited supervision and work well within a team
- Must have ability to hike long distances with a pack
- Must have ability to accomplish physically demanding tasks
- Must possess a good attitude
- Must possess enthusiasm for protecting Colorado’s resources
- Must be willing and able to work outside which may involve inclement weather
- Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds repeatedly during the course of a workday
