Description of Job
The Temporary Property Technician provides maintenance and management to state properties, buildings, and equipment owned by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) in the Denver Metropolitan Area.
This position works closely with field staff to assist with a wide range of operational needs, including:
- Weed management and other vegetation treatments
- Facility and equipment maintenance and repairs
- Property maintenance
- Infrastructure upkeep and grounds work
- Operate heavy equipment, tools, and machinery including tractors and mowers
- Rodent and pest management
- Nuisance and conflict wildlife response
Duties & Responsibilities
- Affix with wildlife conflict and nuisance response under staff direction
- Perform property and facility maintenance, including groundskeeping, repairs, and inspections
- Conduct property technician tasks, such as maintaining structures, fences, gates, signage, and storage areas
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment (e.g., tractors, skid steers, mowers, trailers, power tools) following training and safety protocols
- Affix with habitat management and field projects
- Safely tow and back trailers (or learn to do so)
- Work independently and as part of a team in varied outdoor conditions
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to back a trailer (or willingness to learn)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Organizational skills and ability to work independently
- Knowledge of wildlife ecology and habitat
