Temporary position located at the Sallisaw Veterans Home, OK Department of Veterans Affairs, 2343 S. Kerr Blvd, Sallisaw, OK 74955. Part-time, hourly pay: $24.99.

About the Role

This role involves performing a variety of specialized technical human resources management duties within the personnel or human resources management unit of the Sallisaw Veterans Home.

Responsibilities

• Scan and upload personnel files.
• Prepare, process, or review a variety of personnel transaction forms concerning vacancy positions, applicant lists, and individual appointments.
• Request and print the certification of eligibles for employment.
• Contact candidates to determine availability and conduct preliminary interviews.
• Arrange interviews with the appointing authority and/or other agency personnel.
• Prepare routine correspondence and forms; type a variety of materials.
• Enter appropriate information into the computer system.

Requirements

• Knowledge of methods and procedures pertaining to records maintenance.
• Knowledge of human resources management or personnel administration rules and policies.
• Knowledge of business communications, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
• Knowledge of business mathematics.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Ability to handle confidential matters with tact and discretion.
• Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely.
• Ability to exercise good judgment in analyzing situations and making decisions.
• Ability to interpret and apply applicable rules to various human resources management activities or personnel actions.

Qualifications

Requires working knowledge of clerical office processes and machines, preferably with experience involving technical human resources management or personnel administration work.
