Temporary HR Compensation Analyst

This is a temporary, non-benefited position responsible for supporting the day-to-day activities of the compensation program. The role assists with market pricing activities to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness while supporting the University’s overall compensation philosophy. This position is anticipated to last until October 30, 2026, and is limited to 1000 hours in a calendar year.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates jobs, determines pay grades, and performs associated analysis.
- Assists with compensation-related requests and ensures alignment with current compensation policies and practices.
- Communicates with stakeholders regarding compensation analyses and processes.
- Supports annual salary planning and merit administration activities.
- Assists with salary surveys and compensation studies to support market competitiveness.
- Supports compliance with applicable wage and hour regulations and university compensation guidelines.
- Reviews and updates job descriptions and organizational charts as needed.
- Performs audits and maintains compensation-related data for accuracy and reporting purposes.
- Collaborates with HR partners and university stakeholders on compensation-related initiatives and projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2–4 years of progressive experience in human resources, compensation, or business administration preferred.

- Human Resources principles and compensation practices
- Applicable federal, state, and local employment regulations
- Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, data analysis)

Working Environment
- Standard office environment
- Noise level is quiet to moderate
- Ability to sit in front of a computer for extended periods
- Occasionally required to move about the office/campus and transport objects up to 20 lbs.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
- This position may be performed remotely.
- The schedule may vary based on departmental needs, and occasional evening or weekend hours may be required.
Pay
The hourly range for this position is $45.00 – $50.00 per hour.
