Temporary Faculty Pool, Marital & Family Therapy

About the role

The Department of Marital and Family Therapy at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) seeks highly qualified, motivated, and well-organized applicants for a temporary part-time teaching pool.

Responsibilities

• Prepare syllabi, course objectives, accreditation reports, and other departmental surveys before deadlines.
• Maintain regular communication with the department and students throughout the semester.
• Communicate effectively with students from diverse learning needs and styles.
• Participate in departmental meetings during the semester.
• Teach in-person and on-campus classes, generally in the evening and at night.
• Teach graduate-level courses (500 level) as needed.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Marital & Family Therapy or Licensed Professional Counselor.
• Licensure or License Eligible in the area of Marital & Family Therapy or Licensed Professional Counselor or Psychology in the State of California.
• A Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Marital & Family Therapy or Psychology with an emphasis in Marital & Family Therapy preferred.
• Prior teaching experience at the college or university level preferred.
• Strong teaching experience to students from diverse ages, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
• Experience in COAMFTE accredited programs preferred for fieldwork instructors.
• AAMFT Approved Supervisor or soon-to-be approved AAMFT Supervisor preference for fieldwork instructors.

Satisfactory completion of a background check is required for employment. The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA).
