Temporary | Event Captain

About the Role

The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division is hiring temporary/on-call Event Captains in the campus Events department. UOES oversees the University's event management, hospitality, and customer service functions, supporting student life, academic initiatives, research activities, and annual milestone celebrations. This role is ideal for those gaining their first job experience or looking to grow into a leadership position.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the set up, execution, and tear down of events within the stadium and other campus locations, including Club Naimoli, Compton Family Ice Arena, and Joyce Center.
• Ensure correct room set up prior to vendor arrival and assist facilities with pre-event preparations as needed.
• Touch base with clients before events to confirm all expectations are met.
• Confirm vendors arrive on time and set up is completed according to the agreed timeline.
• Troubleshoot A/V issues during events and assist with any necessary repairs.
• Collaborate with event planners and relevant University departments (e.g., Facilities, Security, Catering) for seamless coordination.
• Deliver high-level customer service to event clients, campus partners, and university vendors.
• Review upcoming assigned events in the office and address questions with the Event Specialist who planned the event.
• Complete the post-event captain’s report and kitchen cleaning checklist thoroughly.

Pay

$17.50 per hour.
