About the Role
Provides comprehensive nursing care in collaboration with the healthcare team, utilizing clinical judgment to diagnose and treat patients' responses to health issues. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, while coordinating with other disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Performs accurate multi-system assessments, monitors lab and diagnostic results, and reassesses throughout hospitalization.
- Develops individualized care and discharge plans, delegates appropriate care activities, and prioritizes patient needs.
- Initiates protocols, executes physician orders, documents care accurately, administers medications, and manages emergencies.
- Assesses effectiveness of care, response to treatment, and participates in quality assurance activities.
Requirements
- Minimum nine months RN experience, with one year ED experience or completion of a nurse internship in ED.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse (Oregon) and relevant certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale).
- Computer skills and emergency pediatric course completion required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous healthcare experience, Bachelor's degree, and certifications such as CEN and TNCC.
- Ability to recognize cardiac dysrhythmias, communicate effectively, and work within professional standards.
