About the Role

The Bell Attendant sets the tone for Sonesta’s mission of “Wowing” our guests with Amazing Moments. This role primarily assists arriving and departing guests in transporting luggage to and from guest rooms while responding to requests in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner. The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality and exceeding guest expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and acknowledge all arriving guests in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Transport luggage to and from guest rooms.
  • Secure, tag, and store luggage at the guest’s request.
  • Direct guests to appropriate hotel staff for assistance with food, laundry, concierge services, or housekeeping.
  • Respond appropriately to guest complaints and inform supervisors of major issues.
  • Promote hotel facilities, outlets, and services, and provide information on local attractions.
  • Adhere to uniform and grooming standards.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Professional verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, including handling difficult guests.
  • Reading and writing abilities to complete departmental records and logs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Previous hotel experience or retail customer service preferred.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced, guest-facing role working throughout the hotel (lobby, elevators, guest room corridors, and guest rooms).
  • Required to work outside to transport luggage to and from vehicles.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts weighing up to 250 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Ability to stand during entire shift (ten to twelve hours, sometimes required).

Schedule

  • Flexible to work variable days, including weekends and holidays.
  • Flexible to work variable shifts (days, nights, overnights).

Pay

The hourly compensation range is $19.21 - $25.62 per hour, following contract requirements.
