About the Role

Incumbent works under the direction of the Department Coordinator or designee, printing, packaging, and organizing ballots and equipment for the Election Office.

Responsibilities

  • Print, package, and organize ballots for early voting and Election Day.
  • Set up election equipment, prepare election materials, and organize supplies.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, supervisors, County employees, elected officials, attorneys, law enforcement, judges, other agencies, and the general public.
  • Comply with Civil Service policies and regulations, collective bargaining agreements, County policies, and laws to create a cooperative, safe, respectful and quality work environment.
  • Report to assigned location with regular, consistent attendance.
  • Perform other duties as directed and assigned.

Requirements

  • Six (6) months of experience using computer programs required.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented.
  • Must be a Nebraska registered voter or eligible to register to vote.

  • Work is performed in an office and warehouse setting. Noise level is usually moderate.
  • Work is generally performed during standard day-shift hours; however work hours may occasionally vary (e.g. evenings, holidays, overtime).

  • Work requires some physical activity including extended periods of walking and standing with occasional climbing, reaching, carrying, balancing, kneeling, crouching and bending.
  • Must have the ability to frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Required sensory abilities include vision, hearing and touch. Visual abilities, correctable to normal ranges include close, distance and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Communication abilities include the ability to talk and hear within normal ranges.
  • Must possess the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate computers and other equipment to perform the essential functions.
