Temporary Voter Customer Service

Temporary positions are not benefits eligible. A typing test is required as part of the application process; tests are valid for six months.

Responsibilities

• Assist voters with registration and early voting
• Perform a wide range of duties in support of election operations

Requirements

• Must be a Nebraska registered voter or eligible to register to vote
• Ability to type 40 net words per minute
• Computer experience and strong attention to detail
• Customer service experience preferred

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

Work is performed indoors in an office setting and occasionally on site at locations throughout the county. Noise level is usually moderate.

• Extended periods of sitting and standing, frequent walking, reaching, carrying, and occasional balancing, kneeling, crouching, and bending
• Ability to transport yourself to and from various locations throughout the metropolitan area
• Frequently lift and/or carry files and materials weighing up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift and carry equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds
• Required sensory abilities include vision (correctable to normal ranges), hearing, and touch
• Must possess hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate computers and other equipment

Work is generally performed during standard day-shift hours, but may include varied days, hours, and overtime as needed. Work may be stressful when dealing with multiple priorities, time constraints, or uncooperative/irate persons.
