Temporary Ballot by Mail Clerk
About the role
Successful applicants will be trained to perform Ballot by Mail (BBM) duties and responsibilities in one or more of the following areas: Mail Processing, Imaging, Correspondence, Ballot Now, Data Entry or Federal Post Card Application (FPCA). This position requires meticulous attention to detail and adherence to office policies and procedures. Applicants should be capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Preparing reports, spreadsheets and other documents as directed.
- Assisting with the filing and storage of election records.
- Preparing BBM voting materials.
- Assisting with supply handout before and supply returns after an Election.
- Inputting data and scanning documents into election-related programs and databases.
- Verifying compliance of communications, documents and forms utilized for mail voting with the Texas Election Code.
- Supporting other BBM teams as necessary and appropriate.
Requirements
- Must meet all eligibility requirements to register to vote in the State of Texas.
- Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
- Good communication skills.
- Good customer service skills.
- Willing to learn new things.
- Ability to work under stress.
- Able to work without direct supervision.
- Strong attention to detail required.
- Flexibility to shift from one area of work to another on short notice.

Preferences: Experience with elections and election processes preferred.

Benefits and Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office and a warehouse environment. Occasionally lifting and carrying 10 to 30 pounds for short distances. May require extended time standing.
Pay and Schedule
Salary: $17.00 Hourly. Position Type and Typical Hours of Work: Temp Full-time | Position End Date: 11/13/2026. Monday – Friday | 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Overtime hours as required to include extended hours and weekends during election periods.
