About The Position
The County of Riverside’s Human Resources Temporary Assistant Program (TAP) seeks a Temporary Mail Clerk to support Riverside University Health System - Medical Center (RUHS-MC) in Riverside, California.
Under general supervision, the incumbent will perform a variety of clerical and manual tasks in the receipt, processing, and delivery of mail and packages generated by County offices; do other work as required, and are responsible for independently carrying out mail room functions and procedures with minimal assistance.
Incumbents may have frequent public contact which requires them to have excellent customer service skills.

Minimum Qualifications
- Experience: One year of experience in general clerical work.
- Knowledge: The operation and maintenance of office equipment associated with postal work; rules, regulations, and procedures pertaining to the U.S. Postal Service, United Parcel Service, and other private mail services.
- Ability: Sort mail quickly and accurately by zip code and by County department; handle and account for mail, valuable property, and documents; lift, move, and carry heavy mail trays and packages; stand or walk for long periods of time; learn the County Messenger Service policies and procedures; perform basic arithmetic computations; keep simple records; establish and maintain cooperative relations with the public and employees; follow oral and written directions.
